Tanshelf

This is Tanshelf station in Pontefract which is basically a platform or two platforms. Trains run from Knottingley to Wakefield and there is one every hour. It used to be a bigger station. Pontefract is a small town with three train stations and you can now travel direct to London. It's all happening here! I used to live near one of the other stations and, dare I say it, I, yes me, was a train spotter for a while. I had the book of numbers and crossed off all the trains I saw (as you do). It was very exciting when the new Intercity 125 was diverted so that it passed the back of our house every morning at 8:25! Well I was only nine! (at a guess).
