Crimson Rosella

So we're away for a couple of nights and we've headed over to the Yarra Ranges national park which is on the eastern side of Melbourne.

We went for a walk around the Maroondah reservoir and got slightly wet, but as we were sitting on a bench when a pair of Crimson Rosella graced us with their presence. They were so funny to watch. Adrian tried to get one of them to eat out of his hand but it started to chuck it down so we had to leave.

We also went to Marysville, which was pretty much devastated during the 2009 black Saturday fires, apparently about 400 buildings were destroyed and something like 14 survived. One of the reasons we went to Marysville was to go to the Uncle Fred and Aunty Val's Lolly Shop but it's not there at the moment, (it looks like they've just started to rebuild it) there are a couple of shops and cafes that have been rebuilt, but I'd imagine there's still a way to go until the restoration is complete.
