Going for Gourd
Bit of a non-day today. Had trouble getting myself going, so pottered around the house and made another apple cake in a futile attempt to stop the windfall apples overwhelming the house. Later on I went out to do a bit of very gentle tidying in the garden, where this week's winds had literally uprooted my borlotti bean tepee, and as the cucurbits have now stopped growing I harvested these little gourds. and left them to harden.
I have decided that our house lies on the flight path between Mecca Bingo, the roof of which is a day roost for assorted gulls, and Redmires reservoir on the moorland fringes, which is their night roost.
Two fungi forays this weekend, which I'm looking forward to very much.
