This is our 4th day in Golden Bay, the northern part of the South Island, and quite isolated from the rest of the country.
Dups and I got up at 6.30am and rushed out to the beach and estuary area, as there was a hint of a pink sky. No our luck was not in, and the grey cloud came over with a little bit of drizzle. This was an image from there with a family of black swans on the beach. We also photographed a lot of Oyster catchers.
As it was raining we went back to our accommodation for a while before venturing out again to the West Haven Inlet and the beach on the West Coast. We spent a lot of time at one beach which had such wonderful stones and rocks.
A very hilly and wind swept farming area, big seas, sand dunes, and lots of native bush.
