Somewhere over the rainbow
Today was a sad day, a day for reflexion and cherishing memories. It was 10 years ago today since my Uncle George died, we all miss him, he had quite a presence, but none of us miss him quite as much as my Mum and his partner Tina. We went up to the field where his ashes were scattered all those years ago and remembered him as he was....grumpy, outspoken but fiercely protective.
We spent the rest of the day giving little J lots of treats as a special reward for being so good at starting school and missing out on a stay with Nanny in the holidays. We went to the beach, played on the fairground rides and in the arcades on the tuppenny machines. Then we went and bought him a new toy lorry and went back to Nannys for lunch. Then we played in the park on the swings and the seesaw. The perfect little boys day out.
After that we treated ourselves to a trip to a new shop in Canterbury, on the way home it rained and rained and rained.....then it stopped and out came this amazing rainbow.
