Drumming in the window

I popped out to the shops this afternoon and this is what I saw as I walked back up the road from parking the car! Well I say saw, I think I actually heard his singing first!!

Successful shopping trip - new wellies and new crocalikes for Ben. He can grow into the wellies over winter, they're too big for him now but easy enough for him to get on and off by himself with bare feet. The crocalikes are also too big in bare feet but as it's probably going to get cooler this month he'll be in socks soon, and he can wear these downstairs while it's not really particularly safe for him to go barefoot. And he can wear them in the garden on fine days. And by next spring they'll be just right I imagine! Perfect for camping, both the wellies and the crocalikes.

I've been wearing dresses two days in a row now. And loving it!! I managed to conquer my fear of injecting my insulin through clothing, and so dresses are no longer off-limits for me. Woo-hoo!! I have also decided recently that all the little bits of bling that I buy for weddings and then never wear again shouldn't be confined to jewellery boxes so I have been wearing flowers in my hair, earrings, pretty shoes and necklaces with my dresses! I don't normally go for this kind of thing as general day-to-day wear but I feel a need for a bit more prettiness in my life and this is my way of achieving it.

Ben has been utterly full of beans again today although he had a headache on the way home from church this morning which required cuddles rather than riding his bike. A big drink when we got home (and a biscuit with a large pink pig iced on it) fixed the headache and he has jumped all over his dad all afternoon.

The afternoon has been lovely. (From my point of view anyway - I've not been jumped on!) Even though the Grand Prix has been on and now Steve's catching up on the rugby, I've had my man at home and we've had snuggles on the sofa while Ben has drummed and sang loudly. Ben has been half-naked of course. Almost as soon as we got home the shorts and pants came off. Speaking of which, he chose his clothing today... I think I need to take a little more care that the clothes he owns actually go together no matter what combination is chosen....

Soup for dinner now. Mmmmm :0)
