Griffith Park
We had talked about hiking Griffith Park since our earlier visit to the Observatory. Today, we once again started at the Observatory, as have 63 million visitors since its opening in 1935. This time we ventured inside and the amazing displays took us the better part of two hours to fully appreciate the information they were conveying. We got on the trail to summit of Mount Hollywood in the heat of the day. We were expecting a fairly narrow trail to top of 495 meter Mt. Hollywood, but as is evident in this photo it was more of a wide, dusty path. Kelsey and I have been discussing various photographic principles for her class, so I thought she would appreciate the compositional s-curve and rule of thirds placement of the human element which provides a sense of scale.
