Messy Day

Katie's had quite a nasty cough during the night last night so we slept on the sofa so she could be propped up more and I could back & forth to the kitchen for drinks, icelollies and such. It meant we didnt actually get up really until about 9 - she managed to sleep between 6 and 9, snuggled up to me, reasonably well. As a result, we've both fancied some home time today.

We did a big load of messy time this morning - lots of painting, sticking, gluing. She started out doing the big one in this photo, doing the gluing bits first, then taking it onto the floor to add to the paint. There is now no space left on the paper! She did a collage on a canvas to go in her bedroom and a load of hand prints and finger paintings. Wearing nothing at all (the vest got removed pre-painting). We did all of her jigsaws at least once, and she wanted to do some more painting.

She told me she wanted to see Jack and Abbie. Just as Abbie was texting to ask if we wanted to meet them. But Katie didnt want to put clothes on so they're coming here. She has now put on her trousers, a fleecy (with nothing under it) and her wellies. All ready to play then! We're planning to go for a walk out with them in a bit, then bake some Postman Pat cookies that Katie slipped into the basket whilst shopping a couple of days ago!
