Wheatear
I took an extended lunch break today to go to White Nothe (near Durdle Door) in the hope of seeing some rare birds (buff-breasted sandpipers, from North America). There were four together yesterday but no-one saw any today.
Still, it was a lovely day and a nice walk up from Ringstead Bay.
There were lots of wheatears everywhere today. They are migrant birds that breed in the uplands and winter in Africa, so always good to see.
On the way back there was a nice view of the Bay area.
