Henchard's House

This is the house on which Thomas Hardy is thought to have modelled the house Henchard lived in as Mayor of Casterbidge. Now Barclay's Bank, it would have made a very fine dwelling in its day. It is faced with vitreous bricks, which glint in the sunlight.
