encased jewels...

...covered in rain water - not ice

although it's been a very cold day today, leaving an icy chill in the air...

these precious red gems caught my eye as i was coming out of an appointment this afternoon... it was foggy... rainy... and i just about tripped over several small baby bunnies - who i was sure were going to be my blip for the day... but then ---

i glimpsed these rubies in the rough... don't they look like pomegranate seeds? give the appearance of being covered in ice - yet dripping with water - shiny and plump - ready to be plucked and eaten... perhaps strung around some garland or tossed into a salad... maybe laced against a pure white throat as a necklace...

i'm certain i haven't done them justice here only because i haven't learned the proper settings to use on my camera and because of the drearyness of the day. however, if you can even sense the slightest hint of pleasure that i've tried to relay... well, i will feel i have but succeeded in my mere attempt at sharing... and then will
