after the workout...
...he still looks good
this after doing the incline as well as an additional hour workout... whew -
i felt like i needed a bit of a lie down just hearing about it - but i grinned saying how wonderful for him to be staying in such great shape... after all, he's joining up with the marines come january... he's an emt (emergency medical technician) so asked after my ankle injury - and then commiserated as i boo-hooed over it still hurting after 2 weeks already... stating how ankles take awhile to heal but i was doing everything right... yay...
no - this isn't a stranger - because you know how i freeze up asking to do portraits of those i don't know...
this is the son of my last long-term relationship and he's just moved back downstairs in the house i live in... until he leaves for bootcamp after the first of the year. not all bad having him around - he's a sweetheart, will do anything for me... is quiet... a gentleman... his papa raised him well and i love him dearly. just because his dad and i are no longer together makes no nevermind to me... i firmly believe relationships don't have to end in an ugly fashion - every attempt should be made to remain on good terms if it's possible, which was the case for us... and it has been to my advantage over the course of time. it's kind of that same philosophy i spoke of the other day - what you give, you get back... at least that's how it's been for me.
anyway - i grabbed the opportunity to practice a portrait... he didn't mind, although was in a bit of a hurry so i was only able to get in 2 shots - this being the best i thought... but really - how can you go wrong with a face like this? i see him and it's an
immediate
happy day.....
