Shingle Street - (Can you tell what it is yet?!)
The wind howled last night.
We felt an urge to go to a coastal spot where the sea might be at its most raw.
We drove to Shingle Street, where the river Ore and the sea are sort of parallel. There were spectacular views across to Orford and the Orford Ness lighthouse.
Himself looked across in the other direction and said 'I see two seals'.
My eyesight isn't as good as his; I saw two rocks, but obligingly 'captured' them. On our return to a PC (of course!) he was right. (He usually is.)
It's awesome to stand and experience unusual weather at the coast. We watched currents pulling and heaving the sea in different directions. We felt no urge to rush away. The wind was so powerful we could hardly stand upright, but it was warm (a south-westerly).
On the way back we saw an egret (a poor one, but still a capture) and five fallow deer ran out in front of the car (another poor one, but in the album as a reminder). The 30 mile limits are a blessing. It was a quiet stretch of road and without the speed limit we could easily have hurt them (and ourselves)!
