This lovely building was built in the 1930s and rose to international prominence when Archibald McIndoe developed a specialist burns unit to treat RAF pilots during World War II. It is still a centre of excellence for burns and reconstructive surgery. It's the Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead and I drive past it when I come home through Royal Tunbridge Wells rather than going up to the M25.
The symbol on top of the cupola is the Rod of Asclepius which has been associated with medicine and healing since the times of Greek mythology.
The whole lot seems to work in the late afternoon autumnal sunshine - try the large size boys and girls, you know it makes sense.
