wherever i lay my jacket...
...that's my home.
swift one today as i'm at work then off on the train tonight to visit my parents for a couple of days. i was thinking of getting something in the railway station later, but i had to nip home in my lunch hour and saw this instead.
it's funny how home means different places depending on where i am at the time - edinburgh, northumberland, or indeed wherever i'm staying that night. i've always done it to a degree, but noticed it more when i was travelling round oz and nz for seven months: call it home, treat it like home, and it is home, even if only for a night. i was only really homesick a couple of times on that trip - a couple of places reminding me of home made me miss it briefly - so i guess i don't understand the feeling of it in others all that well. yet another flaw! then again, it gives me the ability to travel freely, so it's a flaw i'll happily keep.
