Paihia

I uploaded this yesterday but it isn't there ! Try again.
We took time out and went Paihia for a walk along the beach. Paihia is the main 'resort' in the Bay of Islands, with fantastice views out to the islands and Russell, a well preserved colonial town/village across the bay. Unfortunately the views from the other direction are not so great. Paihia has some nice features and buildings but is too commercialised for us ! There is a ferry across to Russell which can be seen in the distance on the photo. It is not an island but on the end of peninsula, a long drive away.
