Sunday = Monday

I took me months to get used to working on Sunday, although here my weekend is Friday and Saturday so I am not missing a day of weekend. Now I'm so much used to Sunday being the first workday that I am surprised when someone abroad is not working. When my mother called me on Sunday recently and I was working she said: 'I forgot that it is Monday there'. It's not actually Monday in terms of time but it does feel like Monday.

The picture shows the view from my office, on the left hand side the Jewish-Israeli settlement Har Homa, and on the right hand side the seperation wall with Bethlehem behind it. The mountains in the back are already in Jordan. This is what I see every day when I arrive at my office and it reminds me why I am working for a Palestinian-Israeli peace organisation.
