Wansfell
Going home day and decision day. Should we head straight home after checking out or do another walk? A difficult choice due the the fact that it was throwing it down but we didn't want to waste a day. In the end we decided to walk. We had noticed a fell near Ambleside called Wansfell and with a name like that we just had to walk it (yes my surname is Wan).
It was wet and it was hard going up the pretty steep hill to Wansfell Pike, but as we reached the top, the clouds broke, the rain stopped and the view of Lake Windemere was amazing. Well worth it. Wansfell Pike is not the actual summit so we continued on to the summit (after me getting knee deep in boggy ground - much to L's delight!) and ate our lunch there. We then headed back via Troutbeck. A very nice walk which was rushed a little due to the parking ticket running out. So tired and soaked to the bone but glad we did it.
Drove home and got the kids back. Missed them! Louis asked me if I'd forgotten what he looked like. Never!
