A view from the past

I found this old photograph today, it's almost the same view we get from our window.When it was taken I am not sure, but the styles of the people on the beach would indicate sometime in the 1960,s .
My son did point out that Cockenzie power station doesnt appear on the horizon so I guess that would help with the date (can anyone help?).Our flat is on the site of the old Portobello power station, so it must have been a daunting sight going for a swim with a power station pouring out black smoke, next to the beach.When they built the estate they kept the original railings from the power staion, which can be seen on the High street part of the estate.
