Old Tradition

I do not purport this picture to be a good one, or the blip for that matter. I have had nothing "jump out" at me today to blip about. That is, not until this evening.

A few days ago I blipped about seeing fireworks in the shops. Today I found out that my Mum had decided to start writing her Christmas Cards!!!!!

I am going to let her off though, not because she is my Mum but because she has a good reason to start writing them. You see, she sends out 200+ each year by post. I appreciate that over the years trend has changed and now some people have decided to give money to charity in lieu of sending cards, but for me you just cannot beat the old tradition. There is nothing better than to open an envelope, look at the picture and read the card to see who it is from. Similarly, emails, texts, instant messaging, etc have taken over and now it is rare for me to receive a hand written letter from friends or family.

Call me old fashioned but I reckon you cannot beat a good old letter and Christmas card.
