Induction Day

Wheeeeee.... first day at college today!

Up nice and early and was fed a bacon sandwich by my Mum before I walked to the train station. I had loads of lovely texts and encouragement from folks too. And I spent the journey on the train with someone I knew after bumping into them on the platform!

After a walk across Glasgow and another train I arrived at the college early so had a coffee nearby before heading in.

The morning was spent taking in lots of info about the course and going through things in the handbook etc. And also talking about assignments. If I remember only one thing from today it should be "Answer the question"!!! Oh and perhaps that 25% of the marks in first year are for presentation!

Today felt right, I was in the right place and I feel good about being there to learn and get a solid foundation which will serve me in the years to come.

It is a very small college and I am one of only two first year full time students!

The afternoon was an introductory to the library and I registered with the main college and have a student card with a big cheesy grin on it!

Hubby's day was equally productive and it sounds like 90% of the packing is done. Keep praying all goes well for him!

This evening I went out with the Minister from Kirkie Baptist and my sis-in-law giving folks in the new houses at Woodilee invitations to The Big Welcome! Followed by joining them on a pastoral visit where I was asked to pray by the person we visited.

Been thinking lots still about Psalm 16 and how faithful a God we have and how he is right beside us...

Here is a couple of verses from the Psalm...

Keep me safe, O God,
for I have come to you for refuge.
I said to the Lord, "You are my Master!
Every good thing I have comes from you."
I know the Lord is always with me.
I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.
You will show me the way of life,
granting me the joy of your presence
and the pleasures of living with you forever.
