Day 10 - Death Valley to Las Vegas

Well we had to end up here really...

Left Death Valley at 07.30 (impressing ourselves) and drove across the desert towards LV. Leaving early meant the traffic was lighter and the temperatures cooler. Stopped in Pahrump (!) on the way, having a drive-thru (surely through?) McDonalds breakfast - trashy but it was another thing to tick off. Got near to LV but as we had a few hours left on the car we headed south to Primm and went to the outlet shops, both finding a fair few bargains. Back up the I15 towards LV, the car by now running on vapours as we wanted to return it empty of gas. Dropped it off just after 13.00, 1222 miles done. What a trip.

Into a cab and straight to the Mirage hotel, checked-in (fab room) and were by the pool by 14.15. Bliss. Out onto the strip for the evening - hot and mad as usual but the perfect way to end the holiday. Dinner on the terrace at Mon Ami Gabi at the Paris - steak and chips x 2 and free views of the Bellagio fountains.
