Sri Lanka - Day 9
Dinner last night at the hotel's beach side bistro - we had the place to ourselves, so for £15 there was our own chef and waiter, steak and crab for mains, a few Lion beers and the sound of crashing waves. Bliss.
Lazy morning spent on the beach, then a tuk-tuk (or three wheeler as they're known locally) into Negombo itself. Nothing to write home about - the usual Sri Lankan melting pot of noises, smells, and colours - but a welcome assault on the senses instead of hiding in the hotel, especially as the market was in full swing.
This chap was one of umpteen selling dried fish - seemed very pleased with the picture when I showed him. On the way back through the market his son Anthony had appeared to look. Nice moment.
