Ah, 'The Good Old Days'

Standing in front of a stack of data equipment tearing your hair out and asking it why it won't work, why won't it speak to me, just tell me what's wrong.

For those that may know it is actually a stack of Nortel Networks CS1000E Meridian Gateway equipment. Trying to get it working with a DECT system but I think the only real problem is cables that have been made up as the correct, 'official', cables are not available. Back in the morning to try to sort it out!
