.....Behind a painted smile.....

Lazy blip tonight.

Totally imaged out after taking several hundred shots over the last 2 days for our Open Night, and then editing them all, rejecting, tweaking, printing and distributing to colleagues for wall displays etc.

So here it is, our Venatian mask.....brought back from a trip by Mum and Dad many years ago and hanging on our bedroom wall ever since.

We have several of these totally useless things around the house.....just because I think they are icons of our world.........Russian dolls, a painting of the Statue of Liberty and the WTC, two didgeridoos, Egyptian heiroglyph and tomb decoration on papyrus, a Thai bowl, real Chinese chopsticks, a wooden pestle and mortar, champagne corks from various family celebrations (Charlie's birth being the latest), Stars and Stripes flag, England flag, several pieces of Oban glass, green slate clock from the Lake District, three Wedgewood pottery pieces, framed Punch cartoons, Chinese tea service, my Zippo lighters....the list goes on....and on.

Sometimes I just look at them and memories come back.....and some times I just look at them and think....Wow! Isn't that just atypical of........
