The Pass of Brander

The Pass of Brander lies at the north western end of Loch Awe and was the scene of a famous battle during the Scots Wars of Independence. I drive through it every time I go to Oban by way of Loch Awe and Taynuilt.

This was taken from the opposite side of that Loch, on the road to Inveraray as I was on my way home this evening. I had been holding a surgery in Oban and also speaking at the Argyll College Graduation.

I have taken this picture several times over the past year but it has, until now, not made it to being a blip. The slight glint on the loch today, and the lowering clouds, meant it was the right time !
