Autumn's Early Morning Arrival
In the past I would proclaim that autumn was my absolute favorite season. And it is.
BUT with age, I've come to realize that I have a love affair with every season. This morning I woke unusually early. I'd like to think it was because of this new season--my excitement, my anticipation. Probably it was other reasons that I'll mention later. So I stood on the upstairs backyard deck in my jammies, with my hair pinned-up, hoping the neighbors weren't also awake and watching while I was out in the cool fresh air clicking the arrival. Oh Autumn I love you!
Summer is so fun and freeing, but before its departure, I'm frazzled and frizzled with the wicked heat, the dry air, and the parched soil.
Well, this morning came with an early appointment -- 8:00 -- at the Apple Store. So that was most likely what woke me at 5:00 -- ugh . . . the need to get to Victoria Gardens with all the "rush" hour traffic. It wasn't impossible, but almost, to get dressed, make-up on, hair styled -- to get ready, while Autumn was arriving just over the neighbor's rooftop and with a fanfare of color in the morning silence. Spectacular!
The appointment at the Apple Store was less than eventful. When the "instructor" asked, "So what do all of you want to learn today?" I knew we were in trouble. Come on, teach me something. Just take me step by step through the basics. So I learned a little because I asked lots of questions. Tomorrow morning I will go back for a "one-on-one" appointment which is supposed to be more indepth. Once I figure out the steering wheel, the accelorator, the brake, the clutch, the gearshift on my new Mac laptop . . . I'll be navigating and on the road to somewhere. I'm most anxious to do something with my photos. My campus laptop is almost 6 years old; it was time for something new and the college is not about to be purchasing computers for instructors with the current budget crunch. So, I purchased the laptop of my choice and now I'm going to learn how to use this baby!
Hopefully this new purchase will spark my "blipping." I've been in a dreadful slump in the blip-world and I'm only 8 blips from a serious celebration. But for the moment, the weekend is arriving right along with Autumn. The combo is intoxicating. Is that crazy or what!
Good night from Southern California where we are awed by Autumn!
