Those Were the Best Years of My Life....

As we drove into Edinburgh, past Gorgie, the scent of the brewers hops wafted through the window and my heart tugged a little as it was refreshed and restored.

I don't need to do anything in Edinburgh for it to work its effect, I can drive in, and drive back out again, and I'm better. If someone could bottle that strong smell, maybe I could just open a bottle?

It was the University Open day, and we parked, and ran; found where we were supposed to be, spoke to the appropriate people, boarded a bus, found where else we should be, spoke to them, boarded a bus again, back to where we started, then ran 2 miles down the road to the next stop.

Then we had some "us" time, and headed for Starbucks! There is no exhaustion that cannot be resolved by a cold, venti, creme frappacino. We sat in Hunter Square and watched the Street church serenade themselves; whilst the resident down and outs swung between assisting in the singing and shouting at them. The punks and goths kept themselves surprisingly to themselves, and when the man carrying a 5 ft placard reading John 2.1 headed towards us with a BIG smile we exited quickly.

We wandered along the Mile, down Victoria Street, where I pottered in the shops. Along the Grassmarket, and I took this shot - When I see the Castle like this, I can be there, in the Grassmarket, in 1500. I can. I can completely feel it. I adore this spot, and I'm starting to think maybe I was hung there in a previous life. I'm very drawn to it.

As we headed back to the car, I spotted this. Had to take a picture mum! It's not often you see something that brings back memories of laughing so hard your mother pees herself!

Tooli says it was the fastest drive home ever. I think we made it in an hour (ooops). She slept most of the way, I only slept in little bursts. (where the road was straight). We've just had Chinese, and I'm ready for bed. Tooli on the other hand, is getting ready to head out for a night on the town.
