Last Day First Flight
Just as the kids drawn pictures I am writing my blip notes on top of come to an end so does our holiday. Today has been a another good day (Wife worked out where to go). After a (by our standards) very good nights sleep we woke to see a woodpecker outside the window of the Wight House. We then went to Ryde seafront. Baby slept so I stayed in the car with him for an hour whilst WIfe and Toddler walked and hit the park.
When we joined them they showed me the greatest park toy ever, a spinning digging digger powered by handles that dug the sand. It was brilliant and eventually I let Baby have a go. I asked Toddler if she wanted to fly her kite (kite flying is a must on the Island to get rid of the rockness of it all). She said No, so I set it up anywayand minutes later she was flying her first kite on the sand absolutley beaming. Baby too had a go and then the arguements occurred as to who was the designated pilot.
After this we went to Seaview Wildlife Encounter. We rushed in for the penguin feeding where we got to throw fish to the penguins. I have never like fish but have also never fed penguins before and so had to give it a go, as did Wife and as did Toddler who had absolutley no issue with grabbing the dead fish and lobbing them to the splashing penguins. By the end of the day we had also fed wallabies and watched the Meerkats being fed.
Toddler loves Meerkats and was so engrosed in the talk about them that even the promise of ice cream would not pull her away. (She took it all in too as at bed time she told me all about how they can catch and eat birds).
A quick poll of favorites at the end of the day was as follows:
Wife - The wallabies
Toddler - The flamingos (though I think it was the meerkats really)
Me - The penguins
Baby - The ducks (Over the last few days he has mastered this word)
Baby loved having the ducks and chickens walking around under his highchair as we had lunch. So much so it was the calmest lunch we have had all holiday and we didn't even have to hunt out and pay for the ketchup.
Now we just have to pack for home.
