Female chaffinch

I thought I had posted this yesterday, but today it has disappeared - that is a mystery.

I spent time trying again to improve my garden bird photography. I have a way to go. You can see in this image that the bird's tail is moving so the shutter speed was not fast enough to cope with this. I like the nice bright catchlight in the eye. The chaffinches love it when I put feed on the logs in the garden. It suits their feeding patterns.

This morning was our last committee meeting before the festival begins on Oct 8th. We get very excited and are looking forward to seeing the first walkers early on that Saturday morning.
