been holed up for far too long,
my skin has lost all its tone and
the glare from the sun burns.

truth

my room has been affectionately dubbed
the cave. not for its appearance but because
it becomes dark and i spend all my time there.

but i am stepping out. slowly but surely.

that is, once i finish my work and get over being sick.

then i'll find a steadier footing.
