You have to look a this one Large to see all the spectacular geese in flight.
Aberlady Bay just down the road is a staging post for the migrating geese. Every year in autumn, thousands of them fly over the house in a giant V shape, like an aerobatic display... they make a huge sound as well, all calling to each other making sure no one is left behind.
Tonight with this weird heat wave and this stillness of the water I was able to capture them stopping off for the evening in the bay. I like this photo but the real thing is breathtaking. The shot is slightly underexposed to make the colours ping, but is almost straight off camera, just a weeny but of adjusting on the sharpness....
