Hope for Emergencies

Sigh

Most days I look around blip and I'm so jealous of all of you who live in beautiful, walkable cities with interesting shop windows and historic buildings all around. Living in a textbook example of "Worst Case Urban Sprawl" as I do, I never see a cute storefront, or get out of my car long enough to take pictures en route from place to place (it wouldn't be safe to get out in the middle of the highway, which is where I spend most of my time). And there certainly aren't any historic or architecturally interesting buildings!

But tonight my improv theatre did a special, free outdoor show at a mixed use development in town called Atlantic Station. I don't go there often since it's a good 30 minute drive from my neighborhood, but it was a really fun place to visit. And while it's certainly not historic - it's basically just an outdoor mall - it is, at least, a walkable outdoor space where the chain stores are forced to make an effort at interesting, eye-catching windows and a lot of the buildings are designed to reflect Art Deco (though they're all modern construction). I was excited to blip there, but I forgot my camera. Left with only my iPhone, dashing through the streets trying to get a cup of coffee before the show started, I saw blips every which way I turned.

But all my attempts turned out so blurry they're unrecognizable. ARGH! I was so close!

So here's a blip from the start of the show itself. Ah well. Next time I won't forget my camera. Or at least I'll stand still when taking pictures with my phone.
