Kitchen dilemma

A couple of tiles fell off the kitchen wall yesterday evening and broke. It has sparked a debate about whether we should get a new kitchen. I know, a bit on an extreme reaction for a couple of broken tiles but it's the same kitchen as when the house was built (about 15/16 years ago) and it's looking very sorry for itself. We've painted the walls, put big flower stickers over the particularly offensive tiles (of a cottage scene - very 80s) but it's definitely seen better days. It would need doing before we sold it - which isn't the current plan - so it seems a waste not to do it now and enjoy it. Very tricky - especially given the fact the boiler is the same age and has been making very worrying noises on an increasingly regular basis - and I'm thinking new boilers don't come cheap.

Anyway, was having this debate in the kitchen (with myself as Andy is still working late shifts - slightly worrying) and this little guy was nodding at me - okay, so he's solar powered and is known to nod until at least 10pm at night - but surely it's a sign...
