Boats in Piran, Slovenia

This is a view late this afternoon in Piran, a small town on the Adriatic--opposite Venice. I'm dodging traffic on the narrow main street (even though according to our guidebook everyone is supposed to park outside the center).

It's our penultimate day in Slovenia, and we've enjoyed all of our week in the country. We arrived in Piran yesterday, from Bled. Today we took a brief foray into Croatia, just to the south, with a less-than-productive stop at a birding area in the no-man's land between the two countries. I would have liked to do a Croatian blip, but nothing measured up (but at least we can count Croatia as a country we've "visited").
