Logs
Another dreich day here in Carradale with more grey skies and quite strong winds. If I hear one more person talking about a heatwave I think I will scream!
Spent afternoon moving a load of logs to a temporary spot in the garden in preparation for a new hut/woodshed being built. Most of the logs came from trees that were cut down about three years ago to make way for our new house. As I was building the new pile I thought it might make a slightly different blip, particularly on a day that didn't exactly lend itself to outdoor shots. Most of the logs are birch although there are also some sycamore in the pile as well as the odd piece of old fencing post! To burn well in the log burners the logs need to be really dry. Once these have been in a basket in our boiler room for a few days they will be ready for using.
I like the different colours, shapes and textures for a pile of old logs. And the best bit about them? With energy prices rocketing, this lot cost nothing other than the effort to chop them up.
