Suitably Attired
For general mooching about the house and garden. Obviously.
Actually the wellies were ditched quite soon afterwards, he was content in just pants. To be quite honest, if I'd thought I could get away with it, I would have been the same. Oh my word but the heat has been oppressive today.
We have had a pretty much Nothing day which has been really lovely! Sad in a way because I was going to meet up with sweetdustybones but her Boo is still poorly so it was not to be yet again. :( So we mooched.
By early afternoon the heat had got to Ben and after yesterday's fullonness he was shattered and opted to go to bed. This meant I got to go into town for a wander all by myself! Now that is a very rare treat. I made the most of it. I actually looked through the sale rails and got myself four new tops that will just about accommodate the growing Bump! Also got a dress which I'm not 100% sure about but it was only £9 so I thought I'd risk it, and a stretchy woollen skirt which will do for when the weather turns but will sit nicely below the Bump. All for less than £30 total. Am quite pleased with myself. Ben, for a change, got nothing!!!
I made a HUGE mistake when I got home though. Ben was still asleep, but he'd pulled the duvet over himself and was sweating like nothing else so I thought I"d carefully remove the duvet (seeing as he'd had an hour and a half sleep already which was quite enough). It woke him up but as he wasn't ready to wake up he was having trouble putting words together and I just didn't understand his sudden desperate need for the toilet. Poor thing didn't know what to do with himself he was that desperate, and ended up completely emptying his bladder on his bed.... I am SO thankful that he crawled back onto HIS bed to do that. His bed has a waterproof sheet on. Mine doesn't. So we had to clean up and change clothes and that's when he decided that he only wanted to wear pants. I feel so bad that I didn't understand quick enough what he needed to do. I must remember next time I think to wake him up after a long afternoon sleep, to get the potty down first...
After that was all sorted out though the day continued nicely until I started feeling unwell due to the heat. A lie down in the cooler half of house sorted that out, by which time it was time for dinner. We had to eat outside again! Even though it was definitely cooler outside, it was too warm inside. Mum and I had to put an extra layer on but Ben was happy in just pants sitting outside to eat! We ate, and watched the planes with their headlights on, and Ben pointed out all the beautiful stars, and then decided he was an owl.
"titterwoo! titterwoo! I OWL mummy! Look granma I got WINGS granma! Look they on my back granma! titterwoo! titterwoo!!" Flappity flap all round the house and garden. "titterwoo!"
Steve's parents popped round after dinner to collect something that mum had bought for them, and sent Ben completely and utterly hyper. (Even with the owl thing. Even more daft than that.) He was very sad when they went home, tried to tell them they were not to go home, but all in vain. They left. He didn't want to go to sleep. Bed had to be remade, pyjamas on, he wasn't being very compliant. I think he'd've happily worn just his pants to bed to be honest. It's taken me over an hour to get him to sleep..... I am exhausted!!!!!
And my man is still putting wires in at home (at 10pm!) so I am waiting on my skype conversation before I go to bed.
Am too tired to actually read what I've written. I can't remember what I've written, and have no idea whether I've put in all the things I wanted to put in... Never mind. Tomorrow is another day!
Apologies if the weather turns now. You can blame me and my buying of summer tops today :0)
