Yes... another portrait of Ben...
But Ben is the star of the show, really.
He is becoming more and more independent and sometimes it just makes me laugh!
Last night, at our wallpaper stripping party, the first person to arrive was Rosie's Mummy, Amy. Ben loves Amy. He played with her for ages while Steve and I sorted out the steamers and scrapers and tidied up. I went in to sit down with them for a moment, and Ben dragged me off the sofa and told me "go"!! Steve tried it a bit later, and was pulled out of the room, "away! away!" How rude. I felt a little... unwanted!
Later on, Ben got carried down the wallpaper-strewn stairs by Halil. Halil said he was going to pop home to get another steamer and some more scrapers; I said to Ben, "Are you going with Halil then?" Ben said yes. (Halil is another of Ben's favourites.) So Ben went off with Halil in his car to collect the scrapers and steamer, Halil's wife was a bit surprised when the two of them appeared at the door! Ben seemed quite unperturbed though. I thought Ben might realise the consequence of saying yes during the car journey, but he just didn't care that I wasn't around! As long as it's on his own terms, he doesn't mind being apart from me.
Now, today, the sash window man is here, taking off the bad putty from around the windows, to put some more on. Ben wants to watch. I need to go out for milk and Ben is just not interested in coming for a walk, because it's too interesting!
Now I'm not even allowed to write my blip because my hands are required for clapping to the music that the fire engine plays.
Yes, Ben is the little star of the show, really.
I have back-blipped for Tuesday as well... What a day that was...
