Spring into Autumn....

Rainy Rhoddie

I know us Brits get accused of being more than a little pre-occupied with the weather but it really is freaky at the mo!!

Really mild here today but pouring rain and quite dark! Today's blip is of the poor rhoddie in the side border that is blooming merrily away thinking it's May again, when I just know that very soon the temperatures will plummet and the happy little petals will be cut off in their prime. Yip, nature really is a tad cruel!

D was up and away hours before dawn broke this morning. I never heard a thing! Got a text before lunchtime to say they had arrived in Portugal, the weather is sunny and very warm and first round of golf booked for this afternoon. They will all be happy as pigs in Sh*t by now I suspect.

Visited my mum in hospital this afternoon. She was looking so much better. They have cut down her morphine dose and what a difference! She was actually able to sit up and hold a conversation!!! Still not happy with what's been happening though and seeing the consultant on Monday. She is supposed to be getting a soft mushy diet and what did they serve her at lunchime? Salad with a block of cheese! Yesterday it was burnt quiche with solid pastry and a dried boiled potato!!! Unbelieveable!

Anyway, I am home now and much lighter of heart at seeing her looking a little more like her usual self.

Got Ele and Ag coming for dinner tonight so will get the spag bol on to cook shortly. Wine is alread chilling so will sit for a little while catching up with you lot then get myself organised.
