Over the Horizon

Missoula Montana

I exchanged my cabin retreat of calm in the cocoon of the Porcupine Mountains for the shock of the outside world.

Two full days of round-about travel from one remote place to another. From funny forgotten lumber jack towns in the Upper Peninsula. Overnight buses to Milwaukee. Hopscotch flights from Minnesota across the great plains to eastern Washington. The blessing of a strangers hospitality couchsurfing with Barbara and her daughter in Spokane. And one ridiculous greyhound bus-ride that finally took me to Missoula Montana.

What a long journey. Looking over the tawny folds of the mountains surrounding town and smelling the sage makes it better. It has been too long! Happy to be back in the Rocky Mountains. West, under the Big Skies....
