Tears for Irton tree

The Irton village beech tree is reflected in the tearful eyes of 17 year old Vicki, aka #Beechnut, who lived in the tree for 4 days protesting against the 100 year old tree being cut down. The final legal challenge failed this morning, so she climbed out of the tree, only to see workers begin the day long job of felling it.

This was a long day as I heard of that Police and workers had arrived at the tree on the 6.30am BBC Radio York news, and rushed there by just after 7am. After a break to get my morning pics back to the office, I went back to record the tree being felled, leaving at 6.30pm...back to the office.
Lots of fresh air, I'll sleep tonight...
