Sleepy owl

I went to Deerness in spite of the heavy showers and walked from Lighthouse Corner out to the Brough of Deerness and beyond on Mull Head. Saw a few different raptors...kestrel, buzzard, merlin, hen harrier and this long-eared owl. I'd sooner the bluebottles weren't on him.

He probably came over from Scandinavia, as did redwings and some whooper swans.
