Its a bug!

Have a sick teenager on my hands. She came into our room at 6am this morning with a raging temp! I'm not too hot on first aid but figured a coolish cloth might help which it did. Then her temp shot up again this afternoon. I did phone the docs for an appointment this morning and the earliest I could get was 3.30pm! and this was with phoning at 8.30AM!
Anyhows got her to the docs and he took her temp and said it wast 101 (in old money) he did examine her and could also tell she had a chest infection so what ioes he say?
"its a bug"
40years ago when I went to a doctors they could tell you as near as dammit what they thought was wrong with you and they either wrote you a prescription or gave you a good old fashioned tonic or cure but not once indeed NEVER did I hear them trot out that old chestnut "its a bug" dont get me wrong, Im not into pills for curing stuff but I do like to know A) what it is and B) what is causing it! All they ever say is you have a bloody bug!

If she is not well enough tomorrow I will stay at home with her and chubby hubby & the other two can go off to the Lake District to hubbies neice's wedding. I dont fancy tempting fate and dragging an ill person all that way. Here's hoping the so called "bug" goes away!

I don't have a lot of time for the medical profession nowadays as I had such bad experience with them when my parents were alive and all the crap they told us while all the time much of it was the fault of the hospitals. I know not all of them are bad and they are suffering cuts while the "managers" coin in the pennies at the expense of the medical staff but manners, charity and kindness cost nothing but can achive much! End of rant!

Note that Abbie dog has come out in sympathy with her!

Have a good bug free evening all
