Toms

All summer long we've had the most glorious harvest of tomatoes - long, yellow banana tomatoes, big beefhearts, small black ones, tiny cherry gems and, best of all, a variety called "balconi" which we've grown in large pots all around the gardens and courtyard and have fruited again and again. Thin-skinned and bursting with juice, these little jewels have been impossible to resist.

Today Lizzie and the dogs picked the very last crop from the potager in the vineyard. Aren't they beauties? We shall turn them into Jewelled Chutney.
