...or at least pretending to be one

for today...

don't you ever pretend? for a day - or a moment - in time... to get away from it all... to be something or someone you're not? to escape... just to play... to stretch your imagination... to reduce some stress... to allow your life to be a bit lively... for fun...

i was outside - i heard the telltale song of birds but didn't see them... i thought they were too far away for any shot... suddenly - they were overhead - 2 of them... the one with wings fully outstretched and all i could think was...

"eagle... it's an eagle..." knowing, of course, that it was not the case - but just for a moment, pretending what an awesome capture it would be if it was - a cool blip for the day - it happened in a fraction of a second... as i lifted my camera and snapped - catching him... knowing in my mind i was going to pretend - making my day
