Moody clouds over the Clyde

Yet more rain today, but in a lull and on the way back from Largs I stopped off at my parents' at West Kilbride. Their house sits higher up on the coast and gives you a great panorama from the heads of Ayr, across to Arran, and on a good day, even up the Paps of Jura.

The clouds over Arran today were stunning - the patches of sunlight and shade constrasting with the dark of the water.

I chose this shot as it looks a bit abstract and rather more like a painting. Not by design, but as a consequence of my compact camera's light meter being a bit difficult to manipulate! Still, I like the unintended effect.
