Pumpkin Pony
Baby had another good swimming lesson this morning, probably his best. It is ironic that since we decided we would probably stop swimming that he seems to have started enjoying them. Once home he then set about having a monster nap lasting almost three hours.
When he finally woke we headed out to the Pumpkin festival over at Queen Victoria Country Park. It was very much fun like last year. Wife, Toddler and Baby had a good play at the libary van whilst I hunted out some coffee and cakes. As last year the pumpkins were massive though I dont think any records were broken this year.
The highlight for Toddler though was that she had her very first pony ride. She was lucky enough to ride Dinky the shetland pony. The queue to ride was long but she was definite about wanting a ride and so we waited our turn. She was quite nervous between putting her riding hat on and waiting for the pony but was also full of excitement. Once on she really focussed on what she was doing and so did not really let herself smile until the end when she really cracked open a big one.
Being under two years old Baby was not allowed a pony ride and watched his sister go round with a large amount of vocal jealousy indeed. He even removed his hat in the hope a riding helmet would somehow find its way on to his head. Sadly he had to make do with a go in the Noddy car on the merry go round, this seemed to help.
After a bit more mooching we ate some pancakes before Toddler was given a very nice minature scarecrow by a nice old lady closing her stall (there was a scarecrow competition going on), before we realised the time and headed home for late dinner, no pumpkins included.
