The Long and Winding Road

In Kirkcaldy today for the Fife Charities contest.

Pictured here are two of the bands most inspiring stalwarts, Angus (Principal Cornet) and Jimmy (Solo Baritone). We were all waiting in this overcrowed, under air conditioned room for over an hour and a half before going on stage, I think it's some new kind of intimidation tactic!

They both played beautifully, as did the rest of us, which could be what won us the best Hymn Tune trophy (it was a March, Hymn tune and test piece contest, see Euphemists entry for more information) but we didn't do so well overall.

Anyway, there is always a next time and you can guarantee that Angus and Jimmy will still be there, hopefully for many years to come.
