Autumn Colours

Other Kiwi blippers have shown autumn colours but they are relatively few and far between up here. This is about the only tree we have in the garden which has turned. The others are all natives or citrus which seem to keep their leaves, at the moment anyway.
This is a persimmon tree, which had a lot of fruit, all eaten by the birds, mainly Tuis, loriketes and blackbirds before they had properly ripened. We have still to taste a persimmon, and would be enthusiastic if we knew what to do with one !
There is a lot of colour in the citrus trees, the mandarins, several different types are all ready now and the lemons, grapefruit and oranges are just turning. I thought they would have ripened in the summer, not autumn going on winter. Still a lot to learn about fruit growing !
