Mountain Lodge - Aberdares
We are now on our way over to the Masai Mara, which is about a 10hr drive away from Samburu, so we are making a number of overnight stops, the first being Mountain Lodge back in Aberdares.
You will remember me saying that Samburu was nearly 3000 ft above sea level, we are now 9000 ft above sea level, and I am having problems breathing, so much so, I spent most of the time in the room, lying on the bed.
Mountain Lodge is a Hotel completely built out of wood, and is arked around a Watering Hole, I did drag myself onto the balcony, and saw some of the visitors that used it, Deer, Waterbuck, Large Forest Pig, Warthog, and Buffalo.
We have now seen 3 of the big 5 (4 really if you count the Lioness asleep).
Because we were so high up, the Air was very cold, so the hotel provided you with Hot Water Bottles, which I thought was a nice touch, they also came round the tables when we were having our evening meal, and asked if we wanted knocking up, if any animal came to the Watering hole.
